Beginners Adult Ballet Classes

I am now teaching beginners adult ballet at Wellesley Studios on Wellesley st, CBD, Auckland. My focus is on the elegance and beauty of the ballet technique, you will learn the basics of the technique as well as a bit about the history, aesthetic, musicality and traditions of ballet.

The Tapac (The Auckland Performing Arts School) in Western Springs and on a Tuesday night are fully subscribed with 22 women from 18 – 64 years in age participating ( and really enjoying) this class….

You can attend as a casual for $20 or pay for the term which ends on Thursday March 26th – 6 more classes in this term. I’ll start again after the April/Easter break – Thursday April 16th.

My dance background is in ballet – having studied from the age of 4, gaining RAD Solo Seal at 17, being a professional ballet dancer from 18 – 21 yrs of age…then moving into contemporary dance in my mid twenties, but of course continuing to study and practise ballet technique as a rigorous form for the body’s continuing development.

I should add I am also teaching intermediate level ballet for those very experienced at ballet (5 or more years of study) after the beginners classes at 7:15 at Tapac and Wellesley. These class move fast, are very dancey and musical, being playful with the technique and aesthetic. Contact me…..
